Apple launched a new AI system, Apple Intelligence, and announced a collaboration with OpenAI

At the 2024 WWDC Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple launched a new AI system, Apple Intelligence, and announced a collaboration with OpenAI. ChatGPT will be integrated into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS later this year. This move caused Apple's stock price to rise, temporarily making it the world's largest company by market capitalization, surpassing Microsoft. Nvidia, AMD, and other companies also benefited from the AI wave, with strong stock performance.

AI servers, designed as high-performance computing platforms specifically for artificial intelligence applications, are characterized by their ability to handle large-scale data and perform efficient computations. The global demand for AI servers continues to grow, with the market expected to exceed 1.6 million units by 2024, and an annual growth rate of 40%. Major manufacturers such as Dell, HPE, and Lenovo are also actively investing in and launching products in the AI server sector.

In terms of the supply chain, ODM manufacturers like Foxconn Industrial Internet, Inventec, Quanta, and Supermicro have shown strong shipment performance due to increased cloud data center orders. Additionally, companies like Dell have seen revenue growth driven by the AI server business, with both order volumes and backlogs increasing. Major global cloud service providers have a high demand for advanced AI servers, with the four major U.S. CSPs, including Microsoft, Google, AWS, and Meta, expected to account for most of the global demand.

Although the demand for high-end AI servers in the domestic market is currently low, it is expected to grow continuously with policy support and domestic tech companies' investments. As the consumer electronics market recovers and large models like ChatGPT and Sora gain popularity, the semiconductor industry is also showing some positive signals, despite facing uncertainties such as supply shortages and overcapacity. Overall, the AI server industry is likely to continue benefiting, with both challenges and opportunities ahead for the industry's development.
